FALL & SPRING BOOK SALES

USED BOOK, MOVIE & MUSIC SALES

The College Women’s Club of Montclair has been collecting, sorting, and reselling used books, movies, and music to fund scholarships for local young women for over 85 years. ​

CWCM’s USED BOOK, MOVIE & MUSIC SALE is a semi-annual event, multi-day event that features nearly 100,000 donated books and other media. Fall and the spring sales are staffed entirely by volunteers from Montclair and surrounding towns. They are the main way we raise money for the financial awards that go to young women graduating from Montclair, Glen Ridge, Cedar Grove, Verona, and Bloomfield High Schools each year.  

Book donations are accepted on DESIGNATED DONATION DAYS in the summer and winter. In between sales, students and volunteers collect books from community members, which are then priced and organized into sections for easier selection.​​

We have thousands of new and gently used hardcovers, paperbacks, CDs, LPs, DVDs/BluRays, audiobooks & sheet music. ​Although we are known for our books, the CWCM sells vinyl records, DVDs, sheet music, maps, and postcards, too – most books are $3 or less!

We also accept financial contributions to our award funds at the sale and have awarded $39K in scholarships to 19 local students in 2025 alone – over $1.5M to date!
